New ADKV Managing Director

Berlin, 30 July 2015: Daniela Dietsche becomes the new Managing Director of ADKV (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Kunstvereine). She will be replacing Theresa Wohlrab, who is moving to Munich for family reasons and will continue her career there.

Ms. Wohlrab had started out as interim managing director but quickly set her own course with projects such as the launch of the Columbus Prize for Contemporary Art (a cooperation of the Columbus group and ADKV), while sharpening the profile of the umbrella association through her close and knowledgeable communication with the member associations.

Daniela Dietsche can look back on fourteen years of management experience in the BVBK (Brandenburgischer Verband Bildender Künstler) with headquarters in Potsdam. In this function she initiated, among other things, the art fair ART BRANDENBURG, which today is regarded as the leading fair for contemporary art in the state of Brandenburg and was awarded a prize by the federal government Initiative Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft as a particularly innovative project.

After studying art history in Berlin and Rome, Dietsche worked as a researcher at the National Museums in Berlin, including the Neue Nationalgalerie. In addition to her association work, Daniela Dietsche also works as a freelance curator.

The board of the ADKV is happy to have found in Ms. Dietsche an experienced and competent personality who will lead the 35-year-old umbrella organization of art associations in Germany into the future with new ideas and design competence.

At the same time, the board is very grateful to Theresa Wohlrab for the energetic and successful cooperation and wishes her all the best for the future.

The ADKV (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Kunstvereine e.V.) is the umbrella organisation of around 300 German Kunstvereine founded in 1980. Its tasks include networking and advising member associations, representing their interests in culture, the media and politics, providing services and working on public relations in favour of Kunstvereine based on civic commitment at both national and international level.
